Fire-retardant fabrics that will keep your clients safe

Fire safety is crucial in the social services, public and leisure sector. At Green Street Fabrics, it’s our main objective to make clients feel comfortable and secure in medical centres, cinemas, restaurants, bars and cruise ships. By using special fire-retardant coatings we manage to manufacture high-quality, fire-retardant fabrics for upholstery, decoration, curtains and rugs.

What are fire-retardant fabrics?

Not only do we apply stain-resistant and antimicrobial coatings to our fabrics, but we also treat them with several highly efficient and innovative fire-retardant coatings. Our fire-retardant fabrics – also called ‘flame-retardant fabrics’ – do not resist ignition, but will burn at a much slower rate than untreated fabrics. This results in a reduced fire hazard and more safety for your clients.

Our fire-retardant fabrics are all compliant with the REACH-regulation and meet the:

  • European standard for normal household use: EN 1021
  • UK standard for general upholstery use: BS 5852 part I – ignition source 0 & 1
  • UK standard for contract use: BS 5852: 2006 – Crib V
  • International Maritime Organisation standard for public ships: IMO FTPC – part 8
